Seein' the Fam in NoCal

It's not too often that you get to meet a brand new brother. That was the primary reason I made a trip up to Northern California this weekend. Although my newest sibling was born in June, I haven't had a chance to visit until now.

Little Miguel Angel is exactly that ... an angel. You know how when people have kids, there's typically an easy one and a hard one? Well Miguel Angel is the easy one. He hardly cries. He doesn't mind when other people hold him. And he can sit contentedly in his baby seat for long stretches of time without fussing.

Conversely, John Paul has finally started his terrible two's (even though he just turned three). He's definitely in a transitory stage where he's learning that he's not an only child. But the good thing about his getting older is that he's not so attached to mom. I was actually able to take him and Anna to the park without one of his parents having to be there (Anna was always willing to go without one of her parents, but John Paul wasn't).

Anna was her typical sweet self, of course. Hopefully she and Miguel Angel will rub off on John Paul.

I didn't really do a lot while I was there other than hang out with the immediate family. I didn't make any side trips, other than a quick visit to the cemetery to take flowers to my mom, and I also took Anna to see Ratatouille which we both enjoyed.

Oh my God, they are all so cute!! But John Paul looks exactly like you when we met in 1989...you know, before the dorm room food at State took it's sad, inevitable toll on your waistline... =)
