Singin' in the Rain, Under the Stars

The Orange County Performing Arts Center kicked off a great new program this summer: Free for All Movie Mondays - free outdoor film screenings under the stars. The series began with Singin' in the Rain, justifiably considered the greatest movie musical ever made (and one of Tim's favorites).

Other films in the four-week series are West Side Story, Xanadu (another one of Tim's favorites) and my beloved Moulin Rouge. We're planning on coming for all four showings.

Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs or other portable seating options. The high-resolution digital screen is projected on the side of the massive Segerstrom Hall theater.

We had a great time, but we underestimated how cold it would get at night and didn't bring enough blankets. Who would have thought it would get so brisk in August?
